  2. hard to explain to people why this is good stuff, 
  3. why this is important, or why we were so excited 
  4. about Marshall; or indeed why we were arguing 
  5. about him. I find it quite hard to explain.

  7. On the other hand, who knows what happens in 
  8. the future? I mean, look at what‚Äôs happened to 
  9. Karl Marx. Twenty years ago he was one of the 
  10. titans of history and now everybody laughs when 
  11. we mention his name. So, I don‚Äôt actually know 
  12. what people will think about McLuhan. At the very 
  13. least, if people are studying our period, they will 
  14. say this was one of the livelier minds.
